BIG DAYS

12/24/2010-We're pregnant!
3/23/2011-Tuckers a boy. We also find out he has Myelomeningocele. Which is a defect where the spinal cord doesn't fully develop. Essentially the spinal cord has an opening. This also causes hydrocephalus; spinal fluid builds up in the ventricals (in the head) and needs a shunt put into to circulate back into the body.
3/28/11-Met with neurologist to talk about severity of Tucker's defect. It was hell waiting 5 days. After having a good talk, Liane and I went and did some baby shoppiing. It was a great day of relief.
7/27/11-C-section date 730am. Surgery to close his spine to come within 48hrs.
7/28/11-Surgery to close spine.

Smurf Mountain

So I've been requested to post this crazy dream I had about 2 weeks before Tucker was born.

It was very real, I thought it was really real! The dream started like this... In order to be a father you had to become a man first. And in order to prove your manhood and show that you are ready to become a father, you had to take a quest to the top of Smurf Mountain. Now Smurf Mountain is the tallest, snowiest, coldest, most treacherous mountain you can imagine. Once you get, and if you get, to the top of Smurf Mountain, Papa Smurf will fly on a stork and deliver you your baby girl or baby boy. So, of course I am ready to have a baby, so I decided to pack up and climb to the top of the mountain. My good friend Trevor was ready for the jump as well, so we were bundled up and went on the quest.  After several days, we made it to the peak of Smurf Mountain. And sure enough, Papa Smurf came flying in on a white stork with 2 babies hanging below. Both Trevor and I were very ecstatic and proud. We thanked Papa Smurf, threw our son's in our baby Bjorn's and headed back down the mountain. After a tremendous journey, we made it to the bottom. And after we cleared the final tree's, there was Liane and Kendal, running towards us with open arms. So lots of joy and tears later, I woke up. No baby but thinking, holy crap, I have to do what!?
